Nissan Qashqai e-POWER technology

Innovative e-POWER

Nissan’s intelligent e-POWER technology is like nothing else on the market. It all starts with a powerful 140kW electric motor that drives the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER’s front wheels directly – giving you the benefit of full electric driving characteristics, such as instant all-electric torque, smooth acceleration, and the added bonus of e-Pedal Step driving.

e-Pedal Step makes urban journeys easier, letting you accelerate and decelerate using just one pedal. Simply lift off the pedal, and e-Pedal Step automatically applies a braking force of around 0.2g. That's enough to trigger the rear brake lights and reduce your speed to a crawl, helping to take the strain out of stop-start traffic[2].

Now, for the bit where the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER gets really clever. Its 140kW electric motor is powered by an efficient 1.97kW lithium-ion battery and 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine featuring variable compression technology to help maximise its efficiency. It makes the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER just as comfortable and competent on motorways and A-roads as it is doing everyday family focused tasks or commuting in town.

As the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER’s battery is charged by the efficient petrol engine and regenerative braking, there’s no need to plug in to recharge. So, you have less worries about range or charging on long journeys. And, thanks to e-POWER’s improved fuel efficiency, you reduce your running costs and spend less time on refills[1]. Win-win on every count.

Advanced in-car safety and infotainment technology

It’s not just under the bonnet where the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER shines. It’s also crammed with the latest advanced ProPILOT driver assistant aids[3], smart NissanConnect Services[4], and intuitive in-car infotainment technology to help make each and every journey as safe, easy and efficient as it is enjoyable.

Up-front, a crisp 10.8in Head-Up display works with a 12.3in digital driver’s display to put all of your vital driving and infotainment information right in your eyeline[5]. An additional 12.3in NissanConnect touchscreen is your portal to NissanConnected Services, providing crisp and easy navigation, as well as easy access to all your favourite music and podcasts through your smartphone, thanks to Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™[6].

Intuitive Google Assistant™ and Alexa® compatibility means you can interact with your car from the comfort of your home[7]. Equally, download the NissanConnect Services app to your smartphone and you unlock a new depth to the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER with door-to-door navigation routes sent straight from your handset to the car’s touchscreen, along with the ability to enable in-car wi-fi and lock and unlock your car from anywhere.

When it comes to safety, the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER has you covered, too. Nissan’s latest ProPILOT with Navi-Link driver assistance features help make both local urban journeys and cross-country treks easy and safer than ever before[3].

Intelligent Cruise Control helps keep you a safe distance from the car in front, while Intelligent Forward Brake and Intelligent Rear Brake will automatically stop the car if the system detects a collision is imminent. Emergency Lane Keep Assist helps keep you between the white lines, while Adaptive Driving Beam Technology will automatically dip the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER’s illuminating LED headlights when it senses another car coming – all without compromising your visibility[8].

Then, when you’ve found a parking space at your destination, the high resolution Around View Monitor offers a 360-degree view of your car through four high-quality cameras, with selectable focus on the front, rear and kerbside views[8].

Nissan Qashqai e-POWER boot space

Space for the biggest family weekend

Finally, the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER isn’t just about technology and improved efficiency[1]. Like its siblings in the Qashqai range, it’s incredibly practical too. Boasting five comfortable ergonomically tested seats and large windows that give the interior of the Qashqai e-POWER a light, spacious feeling, passengers will arrive at their destination feeling much more relaxed than when they left.

A luggage area that offers up to 504 litres of load space[10] means no family weekend is too big for the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER, while two clever luggage boards, available from N-Connecta grade, offer 16 boot configurations for maximum flexibility. The handsfree power tailgate[9] and wide-opening boot and door apertures also make loading and unloading the Qashqai e-POWER a breeze.

So, whether its unique and more efficient[1] e-POWER electrification, a wealth of in-car safety and infotainment technology or incredibly versatile space, the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER is truly the family crossover that adds a new trick to its repertoire.
